Belle Toh
Founder and President
For more than four decades, Belle Toh has been bringing people together through the transformative power of the arts. A collaborative pianist, educator, producer, and arts visionary, she has created innovative artistic collaborations across North America, Europe, and Asia, believing that artistic excellence has the power to inspire hope, foster healing, and build meaningful connections across cultures and communities.
Throughout her career, Belle has gone beyond the traditional concert stage to produce benefit concerts, multicultural performances, chamber music collaborations, outreach events, and interdisciplinary arts experiences. Whether organizing concerts with musicians from around the world, producing Handel's Messiah with the Miao Minority Choir before an audience of more than 3,000 in China, or developing community arts initiatives, her passion has always been to create spaces where beauty, compassion, and artistic excellence come together in service of others.
This lifelong vision led Belle to found Transformance Art, a multidisciplinary nonprofit that bears witness to human stories through the arts, creating transformative experiences that foster connection, hope, and healing. Rooted in faith and committed to artistic excellence, Transformance Art serves people both within and beyond the walls of the church.
At the heart of Transformance Art is the Healing Arts initiative, expressed through the Meraki Projects, interdisciplinary collaborations exploring grief, resilience, forgiveness, restoration, and other dimensions of the human experience through music, movement, poetry, visual art, theatre, and storytelling. Creative Response further invites participants to explore and give shape to their own stories through artistic expression, emphasizing honest process, personal meaning, and compassionate discovery rather than performance or a polished product.
Belle also envisions the continued development of Sacred Music, cultivating meaningful collaborations among composers, poets, and musicians, and Creative Prayer, the faith-based expression of this work. Through Creative Prayer, accomplished artists listen to an individual, to one another, and to the Holy Spirit, responding through music, movement, poetry, visual art, and other artistic forms as an expression of prayer. Together, these initiatives reflect Belle's desire to create spaces where artistic excellence, faith, and human experience meet in service of others.
Belle holds a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the University of Tennessee and also studied at the Royal Academy of Music, Trinity College of Music, and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. She continues to perform, teach, mentor artists, and develop collaborative arts experiences through Transformance Art.
